Title: Operations Technician

The CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery is seeking Operations Technicians to join our team. The Operations Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining refinery equipment which includes complying with safety and environmental regulations. Operations Technician duties involve twelve (12) hour rotational shift work in refinery process units, troubleshooting monitoring various pressures, levels, flows, and temperatures. Additional duties include operating and performing basic maintenance for all mechanical pumps and related equipment. Operations Technicians have direct responsibility for worksite operation, safety and security.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Twelve (12) hour rotational shift work in refinery process units and terminal areas.
- Responsible for outside product processing equipment and operations at a variety of work sites. Job is accomplished by monitoring various pressures, levels, flows, and temperatures using specific instrumentation and gauging.
- Operates and performs basic maintenance for all refinery-related equipment.
- Operators have overall responsibility for worksite safety and operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Petrochemical Technology Program or certificate in local areas where degree programs for PTech are offered, OR
- Two (2) year college degree in a related field; OR
- Two (2) years of relevant industrial experience with a high school diploma or equivalent; OR
- Five (5) years of work experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime required.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in high locations, work outdoors and wear SCBA equipment required.
- Qualified candidates must successfully complete assessments, drug screening, background check, and medical exam
- Must have current state-issued valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- TWIC Eligibility Requirements: The maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to regulated facilities to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. All candidates must be eligible to receive a TWIC in order to be considered for an offer.
